Nothin' Fancy

So here are my reasons for my blogging negligence:

1) I am terrified that I will post misspellings and type-os. I know this is almost inevitable because I don't have time to create perfectly proofread posts all the time.

2) I feel that my posts ought to contain something special, fancy, even exotic. But there is nothing fancy in my life right now. (Has there ever been?) But I have realized that the blogs I most love to read are of everyday life. Even the "boring stuff." So I have decided to overcome this fear.

3) Related to the above reason -- I feel that my posts should be lengthy and meaningful. But obviously length is not bound to meaning (take Haiku, for example), and in fact one of my favorite blogs is Abraham Piper's "22 Words." So this, too, can be overcome.

All this is to say that I signed up for this blog so that I could put a bit of Mixer life on the web and I have failed! I am going to overcome reasons 2 and 3 and begin to post the normal day-to-day stuff in our little lives. I don't think I'll ever overcome #1, but maybe I'll learn to just blog through the fear. :)

That said -- here is today's non-fancy entry: Today I made a very pretty quiche in a very messy kitchen, and have been shocked to learn that six month old Simon can fit into clothes sized "12-18 MOS."

Above are pics of each.

WHAT! He's in 12-18 month stuff! You're lying! That little boy that laid on my floor yesterday is not THAT big! :)

Did you make your own crust? Um, that qualifies as fancy in my mind!

Beautiful quiche, indeed, & I bet it was just as tasty.
OMG! I can't believe Simon is wearing 12-18m.
